Abstract
This talk presents videos which incorporate digitally processed images of the face of white femininity in fashion--a face of techno-seduction that encodes race and class privilege. The seduction to become white femininity, conveyed through imaging technologies, is subverted through a computer animation process to reveal the seductive face’s ghostlike other in war photography. The sacrifice, by definition, loses face in a landscape of militarized zones. Against this visual backdrop, the soundtrack conveys a personal narrative of displaced identity and intergenerational memory. |
